 The Cardio-Vascular system

What does the heart look like? The human heart is about the size of a fist. Because the heart is a muscle with lots of blood supplied to it, it looks red like meat In people who are overweight the heart looks yellow because it is covered with yellow fat.
Trabeculae carneae - WikipediaWhy do we need blood to be pumped around the body? The purpose of your heart is to pump blood to the organs and tissues of your body that need the oxygen and nutrients it carries. Oxygen-rich blood is pumped out of the left side of your heart
What is blood pressure? The pressure of the blood in the circulatory system, often measured for diagnosis since it is closely related to the force and rate of the heartbeat and the diameter and elasticity of the arterial walls.
Why does your pulse increase when you exercise? When you are exercising, your muscles need extra oxygen—some three times as much as resting muscles. This need means that your heart starts pumping faster, which makes for a quicker pulse. Meanwhile, your lungs are also taking in more air, hence the harder breathing

  1. Thanks for this information about the cardio-vascular system, Kaleb. The explanation about pulse rate increase is well written and informative. I like you choice of heart diagram but it is quite small. You could probably make it slightly larger and easier to read. Keep up the good work. :)
