Evaporation Experiment

Lately, We have been learning about solute, solvent and solutions.

Evaporation is when water changes from liquid to gas.

Aim: To evaporate copper sulfate

Hypothesis: I think that it will bubble then turn into gas

Equipment: Element, Gause mat, beaker, evaporating dish, copper sulfate

Method:
  1. Set up element

  2. Add 100mL of hot water to the beaker and place on the element.

  3. Add copper sulfate to the evaporating basin until it is quarter full.

  4. Carefully, place the evaporating basin on top of the beaker.

  5. Turn on the element to 3

  6. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated and crystals of solute are forming.

  7. Turn off the element- careful not to touch as will be hot for a long time.

Outcome:
first, it started to fog up the glass then it started bubbling softly then started to bubble a lot and crystals were forming around the evaporating dish next it started to steam.

How to deal with negative influence in friendships/relationships.

How to deal with negative influence in friendships/relationships.

In negative relationships and friendships, you could have, such as jealousy, toxicness, being controlled all the time are examples of having a negative relationship or friendship.

If a friend or a girl/boyfriend is being annoying to you all time, being violent when nothing happens or backstabbing you, that's also a sign that their friends but not friends you want to keep.

So if you want a friend to stop just talk to them face-to-face if you want them to stop but if you are too shy to face-to-face.

Conflict is a very bad way to be friends/mates/Girl/boyfriends with somebody, to deal with it is to talk with your friends/mates/Girl/boyfriends and talk it out and make and agreement.

Reading lesson follows this structure:

Pre-reading - what do you already know? What are some things this text may tell us?

  • Share personal info not private

  • Photographs

  •  Information about things like.

During reading - check meaning on words, and phrases used.

Post-reading - Why do you think the author made this text?

  • Warning people to be aware of what they post online.

  • Awareness about how many ways there are to share.

What did they want their audience to think about and/or know?

 - use evidence from the text to explain your answer.

  • Digestive footprints never leave, never go away they are not like footprints in the sand

Filtration chemicals & chaos

Welcome to another post on my blog. Today in Hur 3, Chemicals and Chaos, while doing Chemistry, we are doing an experiment about filtration, this experiment will include chemicals being separated.

Aim: To Separate a solution from a precipitate.
Hypothesis: I think that both will separate
Equipment:
  1. Sodium sulfate
  1. Conical flask
  1. Stirring rod
  1. 200ml Beaker
  1. Funnel
  1. Filter paper

Method:

1. Pour approximately 50mL of copper sulfate solution into a beaker.
2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form. Called copper carbonate.
3. Watch demo then fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel
4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask.
5. Stir the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel.
6. Observe what happened.
Observation:
When we mixed Copper Sulfate and Sodium Carbonate, the 'carbonate' and 'sulfate' swapped and turned to;
Copper sulfate + Sodium Carbonate turned to Copper carbonate + Sodium sulfate
The Copper carbonate stayed on the filter paper and the sodium sulfate filtered down.
