New Zealand is moving to the new traffic light system, meaning Kiwis will have to navigate a new set of rules on where they can visit and what they can do. At the announcement, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said setting the date now would give people, communities and businesses time to prepare. The system will involve three settings - green, orange and red

Red ~

~ The red setting will allow hospitality to open with vaccine certificates, but gathering limits, physical distancing, masks and other public health measures would be used.

~ Record keeping and scanning will be required, with face coverings mandatory on flights, public transport, in taxis, retail, and in venues.

~ Public facilities can open with up to 100 people and 1m distancing. Retail needs to have 1m distancing too.

~ People are advised to work at home, but ECEs, schools and Kura can open with public health measures.

~Some outdoor community events will be allowed with limited capacity.

Text: Simon Sinek on millennials in the world

Text Type: Interview on youtube (Inside Quest)

Purpose: To help understand millennials and improve wellbeing through reducing screen time.

Date:21st June 2021

So today in wananga class we decided to watch an interview on youtube called Simon Sinek on millennials in the world. He explained that millennials don't have as much patients as other generations do. when they want something they want it now they can't wait. The main part of the interview was about phones and how people are so addicted to them these days and they go on their phones instead of going to a friend for help they distract themselves on mobile devices.

He gave a couple of examples about phones one of them being that they make people less social. He said that people are less social these days and one of the big reasons is mobile phones and even people before meeting are always antisocial there always on their phones waiting. Another example he gives is the second we wake up we are always on our phones and we are always on our phones right before we sleep we are always near our phones.

English - Creating Our Own Short Film

Best Friend Counselling

Hey, welcome back to another blog post. In the last few weeks in English, our class was split into groups to make our own short film.

Ours is based on two best friends (Xavier and John) that are going to counselling to fix their relationship, but it turns out that John has been cheating on his best friend with another person named Frank.

This is a retelling of the Merchant of Venice because we took the main principles of the court scene and transformed it into a modern setting.

The 2 additional film techniques we used were high angle and over the shoulder.
We chose a high angle to make John look weak and vulnerable and we chose over the shoulder to give the viewer some perspective.

Some challenges we encountered was that we didn't have that many days where our whole group was at school so it was hard to get our filming finished so next time we will make sure everybody comes. Another factor was that we couldn't find a good area to film because we needed a place that was empty and a place we could be loud in, we eventually settled with our classroom.

If we were to do this project differently I would plan out where we are going to film in advance and actually write a script as we did this whole film improve.

What % of rubbish causes a recycling truck to be dumped?

If there is more than 10% of rubbish then it all gets sent to landfill.

What is going into peoples bins?

There are many different items that end up in the bins such as guns, seat belts, dead animals and many more.

what are the current penalties?

The penalty is that you can get ur bin taken of you and will have to pay  $97. I agree with this because then people will learn and people will start listening to the rules and will put the right rubbish in the right bin.
